Biography
- Sarah Fachada received her master's degree in 2017, from Ecole polytechnique, France, and Trinity College of Dublin, Ireland. In 2017, she joined the LISA and became an aspirant research fellow of FNRS in 2018. Her PhD research focus is on light field processing for virtual reality and holography. In particular she works on improving depth image-based rendering algorithms of natural scenes, including non-Lambertian objects and scenes acquired with plenoptic cameras. She is the main developer of the Reference View Synthesizer (RVS) tool, a real-time depth image-based rendering software which is used in MPEG-I standardisation for immersive video. She is also working on calibration algorithms and modeling of plenoptic cameras, and computational imaging methods for subaperture image rendering for plenoptic cameras.
